Port Jeff Fishing Charter

Another summer, another annual charter boat fishing trip...this time with the good folks of the Osprey Fishing Fleet. The boat, price, and crew were all pretty much industry standard for an open boat charter fishing trip on Long Island, you're pretty much getting exactly what you are expecting. But you want to know what wasn't standard? The fishing was off the hook!!! (pun totally intended). The action started a little slow but the blues started running a couple hours into the trip and the action got intense...FAST!!! This is exactly what you are hoping for when you book a fishing trip. For those of you who don't know, blues are a medium sized fish that puts up a more than a medium fight and will bite pretty much anything shiny when they are feeding. I'd say everyone on the boat caught between 4 and 8 fish. Blues might be a little too much for kids younger than 10 or 11, as they put up a pretty good fight. But if you're kids can handle it, they are in for a whale of a time (takes HUGE bow). For whatever reason I've had way better luck fishing off the North Shore in the LI Sound as opposed to the South Shore. Take it for what it's worth. But definitely try to get on board during a time when the blues are running...you won't regret it.
